Q

What special pricing is available on a Royal Caribbean cruise?

A

Some qualifying rates apply for the following, including a special third and/or fourth guest rate for anyone who is staying in the same stateroom with two full-fare paying guests. So if you intend on having your children stay in your stateroom, their rate may be lower. Additional qualifying rates include:

  • We offer reduced senior prices only on selected sailings exclusively for guests who are 55 years of age and older.
  • We also offer special rates for police officers and firefighters on selected ships and sailings.
  • We do offer special rates on selected sailings for military personnel.
  • It is important that at least one guest per stateroom be eligible to be considered in compliance with a discounted price program. It is also important to note that non-compliance with the discounted price program terms will result in the reservation being re-priced to the lowest available fare for that particular day. Furthermore, you will be responsible for paying for any differences immediately, otherwise your boarding rights will be denied.

To qualify for a police/fire department rate, an individual must qualify under the following:

  1. At least one guest in the stateroom must be an active or retired employee or volunteer for a local or state law enforcement agency, fire department or Emergency Medical Services unit in the United States or Canada.
  2. Qualified guests must present valid proof of employment (badge or ID) plus a second form of identification when boarding the ship. The offer is not valid where restricted by applicable law.
  3. All guests travelling in the same stateroom are eligible to receive the police/fire rate. No additional staterooms, other than the one that is occupied by the qualified person are eligible for the police/fire rate. Spouses, parents, in-laws, children or other family members or friends are not eligible for the rate without the eligible person occupying the stateroom.

To qualify for a military rate, an individual must be classified as one of the following:

  1. Active personnel currently serving in the Canadian National Defense; United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard or Reserves. Proper identification in the form of a United States Uniformed Services WHITE Identification Card for U.S. military personnel, and a WHITE N.D.21 Identification Card with a Red Canadian Flag displayed for Canadian National Defense personnel, must be presented at time of check-in.
  2. Retired from any of the divisions listed directly above. "Retired" is defined as A) enlisted personnel or officers with a minimum of 20 years of service, B) medically retired or C) 100% disabled. Proper identification for those classified in category A or B must be in the form of a United States Uniformed RED (Reserve retired personnel) or BLUE (Active Duty retired personnel) Identification Card. Proper identification for those classified in category C is a United States Uniformed TAN Identification Card. Retired Canadian National Defence personnel are eligible and must possess a green NDI-75 card (retired personnel). All forms of identification must be presented at time of check-in.
  3. Veterans with an Honorable Discharge serving a minimum of 2 years, or 6-months in an active war zone, in any of the United States service divisions listed above. Proper identification in the form of a DD 214, plus a current photo must be presented at time of check-in.
  4. Spouses of actively deployed military personnel are eligible to book one stateroom as long as the eligible spouse is occupying the stateroom. This rate also applies to all other guests travelling in the same stateroom. Spouses of deceased military personnel are also eligible for the military rate. As proof of eligibility, spouses must present the Pink or Tan Dependent Military ID upon check-in.
  • All guests travelling in the same stateroom are eligible to receive the military rate. No additional staterooms, other than the one that is occupied by the military person is eligible for the military rate. Spouses, parents, in-laws, children or other family members or friends are not eligible for the military rate without the eligible military person occupying the stateroom.

To qualify for Interline Personnel rates, see the below eligibility. You must place your reservation through a participating travel agency. Contact your human resources department for a list of these agencies.

Eligibility
To qualify for an Interline Rate, each occupant of a stateroom must satisfy either: (a) the requirements for Primary Eligibility for Interline Rates, as described in the 'primary' section below; or (b) the requirements for Secondary Eligibility for Interline Rates, as described in the 'secondary' section below.

The vendor must obtain proof of each occupant's eligibility for Interline Rates within 48 hours of booking and prior to the documents being issued.  Acceptable forms of proof to establish that a person is an 'Eligible Airline Employee' (as that term is defined below) are set forth in the 'identification' section.  The final decision for eligibility rests with the applicable Cruise Line.

Primary Eligibility

Airline Personnel
Any person who satisfies any of the following standards will be deemed an 'Eligible Airline Employee' provided that that person can substantiate his or her employment by providing the acceptable forms of proof described in the 'identification' section.
Airline Employee: To be an 'Eligible Airline Employee', a person must be:
1. A current employee with flight benefits for either a domestic or international commercial passenger airline
2. A current employee of Federal Express (FEDEX), Astar Air Cargo (formerly DHL Airways) or United Parcel Service (UPS)
The Cruise Lines from time to time may: (a) limit the availability of Interline Rates to employees of airlines who offer reciprocal pricing offers to employees of the Cruise Lines; or (b) offer two-tiers of Interline Rates, one for employees of airlines who offer such reciprocity and a second tier for employees of airlines that do not offer reciprocity.
3. For retired employees of airlines currently in operation (active airlines).

Stateroom Eligibility
As long as one guest in the stateroom is described as 'primary' eligible, the following would apply:
1. All other guests in the same stateroom would be eligible for the interline rate 2. (One) additional stateroom may be booked with guests in that stateroom who are eligible for the interline rate
3. * A (second) additional stateroom may be booked with the guests being eligible for the interline rate only if one of the two additional staterooms is occupied by dependent children of the primary guest.
4. A maximum of three (3) cabins can be booked per primary guest, per sailing date only as described in No. 3 immediately above.

Examples of primary eligibility:
a) primary in cabin 1 + another cabin with anybody in it = 2 cabins
b) primary in cabin 1 + dependent children in 2nd cabin + another cabin with anybody in it =  3 cabins

Examples of NON-ELIGIBILITY for three staterooms:
a) primary employee in cabin 1, primary brother and sister-in-law in cabin 2, friends of the primary employee in cabin 3

Secondary Eligibility

Airline Personnel

The guests who qualified under 'Secondary Eligibility' may cruise at interline rates even if they are unaccompanied by the 'Primary' eligible guest.  All guests in the same stateroom as the 'Secondary Eligible' guest can travel at the interline rate.  Guests qualified as 'Secondary Eligibility' are as follows:
1. The spouse or Partner of a currently employed Airline Employee
2. The parents of a currently employed Airline Employee
3. A retired employee from a domestic or international commercial airline
4. (CRS) employees of Sabre, Worldspan, Galileo/Apollo or Amadeus

2. A maximum of one (1) cabin can be booked per sailing date

1. Amtrak employees
2. Cruise line employees
3. Tour company employees
4. Parents-in-law
5. FAA, Air Traffic Controllers or other government employees

Identification

  1. A 'Primary' guest as described above must provide proof of eligibility in the form of a current ID Badge from their respective airline. This is the only form of accepted identification needed for the Airline Employee.
  2. Retired pilot or employee must produce authoritative proof in the form of a company ID Badge or correspondence from a Human Resource Department of the company from which the employee or pilot retired
  3. A 'Secondary' guest as described above must provide both a photocopy of the 'Primary' guest ID Badge and a letter on airline letterhead with Manager or Department Head signature and phone number
  4. The vendor must retain the proof of identification on file until six months after the sailing has been completed
  5. The vendor must also inform the guests that they may have to provide proof of identification at the pier check-in along with proof of qualification for each occupant of the second stateroom (if any).  Failure to produce authentic identification may result in the cruise fare reverting to the full retail tariff at the time of check-in or boarding may be denied. A Travel Partner retains the responsibility of qualifying Eligible Airline Employees' identification prior to the documents being issued for each traveller

Random audits will occur at any time throughout the year.  Proof of eligibility requested by 'The CruiseLines' must be in your immediate possession at time of each request.

As an approved Vendor with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises, be advised that all bookings made through your interline phone number, will create an electronic document through our eDocs program.  There will be no option of receiving a paper document for any booking.  This includes a retail or group booking, as well as all interline bookings.

Rate Conversion:
Guests initially booked at a non-interline rate who request to be converted to an interline rate if one becomes available, will be allowed to convert to the interline rate.
