The One Thing You Don't Want to Miss

Explore the Skagen Museum, founded in 1908, and discover some of Denmark’s most famous artists. Not only does the museum display more than 1,800 works from Danish and international artists, but also gives insight into the culture and life of the people living in the artist colony.

Other Fun Things to Do

  • Built in 1858, Skagen Fyr is the tallest lighthouse in Denmark. You won’t be able to find a view of Skagen better than this.
  • Discover the point where the two seas, the Skagerak Sea and the Kattegat Seat, meet at Grenen. The famous beach appears as the backdrop in many of the 19th-century works of Skagen Painters.
  • The Skagen Church, built in 1841, is located in the historic town centre. It was a brick building of considerable size, buried by sand from nearby dunes.
