Airport Transportation If requested in advance, Royal Caribbean can arrange for accessible transportation to transfer guests between the airport and the pier. This service is offered at no extra charge to our fly/cruise guests or those who have purchased cruise-only transfers. Accessible transport may be limited or not available outside the U.S. See a travel agent or contact us for details.
Extra Assistance at the Pier
Royal Caribbean International® offers boarding and departure assistance to guests with mobility disabilities. There are wheelchairs and personnel to assist our guests on and off the ship. Please note that our personnel are not required to lift our guests. Request special assistance once you arrive at the pier or contact us prior to your cruise. During peak times there may be a wait for assistance.
Travelling from Ship to Shore Occasionally, certain transfer operations (i.e. during tending and at the gangways) may not be fully accessible to guests who use wheelchairs or scooters. When a ship is unable to dock, guests are taken ashore on smaller boats called tenders. Keep in mind, the dock/tender status of all ports is subject to change without notice. We will make every attempt to accommodate each guest at every port. However, some guests may find it difficult to embark or disembark the ship at certain times while at dock or while tendering due to steep gangways and steps, particularly at low or high tide. Situations may occur in which guests may not be able to go ashore at the time they desire or are unable to go ashore at all in certain ports. The safety of our guests and crew is always our primary consideration and the Captain and his staff shall make the final determination regarding the transferring guests and their mobility equipment (wheelchair, scooter, walker etc.), taking into account all appropriate factors including, but not limited to, weather conditions, ship's location, etc. Please note our personnel are not required to lift our guests.
